Wide Receiver Analysis

Wide receivers are very similar to drafting outfielders in fantasy baseball. You can always find one, regardless of what round you are drafting in. The goal is always to look at positional scarcity and unlike running backs and quarterbacks this draft, wide receivers with good values can be found in the later rounds. If you are going to take 2 solid running backs and a quarterback in the first 4 rounds as I recommend, you are likely to have to decide between taking a tier 1 WR in the 3^rd round and passing on a tier 2 quarterback, or taking a tier 2 quarterback in round 3 and going with a tier 2 wide receiver as your #1 WR in round 4. I think that the answer may come down to which one of the tier 1 wide receivers are available in the 3^rd round, depending on where you are drafting from in round 3. I also feel that I can pass on some of the tier 1 wide receivers and still find great tier 2 and tier 3 wide receivers with great upside in rounds 4 – 9 that can allow me to draft my quarterback earlier than normal (round 3 or 4).
